Your Fall 2026 Shoe Guide for Moms on the go

Styles ill be wearing on repeat this fall

Fall shoe season might be my favourite shoe season (after patio season that is). You can finally start layering outfits around sneakers, boots and cozy slip-ons, and this year there are a few trends I’m already obsessed with. From metallic sneakers to uggs and sneakerinas (ballet flats + sneakers), there are some really fun trends for fall so grab your pumpkin spice and let’s get right into it.

I teamed up with The Shoe Company to round up some of my favourite styles for Fall 2026, including pairs for me and some practical back-to-school picks for the kids. If you’re updating your shoe closet this season, these are the trends I’d start with.

  1. Metallic Sneakers

Metallics are having a major moment, and I’m fully on board.

I grabbed a pair of metallic adidas sneakers and LOVE how they instantly make a simple outfit feel more styled. I’m wearing mine with straight-leg denim, wide-leg trousers and even dresses while the weather is still warm.

They’re basically the answer for those mornings when you’re wearing jeans and a basic tee but want it to look like you actually thought about your outfit.

And yes, metallics can absolutely be treated like a neutral. Silver sneakers with denim and an oversized sweater? So good, they literally match everything and can be dressed up or down so easily. Since they are slim profile sneakers, feel free to wear them to a casual office as well!

2. Chunky New Balance Sneakers

If you’re a mom who spends half her life running from school drop-off to errands to kids’ activities, this one is for us. Chunkier sneakers are still one of my favourite ways to make a casual outfit feel current, and New Balance has so many good options right now. I love wearing these to the park, errands, school drop offs and any weekend plans tbh! I especially love the New Balance chunky silhouette because you get that sporty, slightly chunky look without feeling like you’re wearing a massive shoe. Pair them with shorts and crew socks for an easy school-run outfit or wear them with denim and an oversized jacket for errands. Comfortable AND cute is always a yes!

3. UGG Tasman Slippers

The second the temperature drops, I want everything I wear to feel cozy. Enter the UGG Tasman. They’re easy to slip on when you’re running out the door, but they still make an outfit look put together. Wear them with leggings, sweats, jeans or your favourite matching set. They’re the kind of shoe that works for lounging at home, school drop-off, coffee runs and everything in between. Basically, peak cozy mom fall.

4. UGG Ultra Minis

If you want something a little more boot than slipper, the UGG Classic Ultra Mini is another fall staple I keep coming back to.

I love the lower height because they work with so many different pants. You can throw them on with an oversized sweater or pair them with relaxed denim and a jacket.

They’re one of those shoes you buy for fall and somehow end up wearing straight through winter. Just remember to use a protection spray first before winter comes.

5. Kids’ Back-to-School Sneakers

Of course, fall shoe shopping isn’t only about me anymore. With the kids back at school, I always look for sneakers that can handle everything from the classroom to recess and after-school activities. My picks include styles from New Balance, PUMA, adidas and Nike, with options that feel sporty but are still cute enough that the kids actually WANT to wear them. I also love having more than one pair in rotation. Because somehow kids can leave the house in perfectly clean sneakers and come home looking like they completed an obstacle course through a mud pit.
